Born by the Sussex South Downs, Katie spent as much time as she could walking the forests and rolling chalk hills. The influence of the landscape has been a life long one, and since moving to Mid-Wales in 2016 this has only increased in its ferocity. The landscape is indivisible from her practice and serves as a constant source of inspiration and a way to connect with others through her art.

Katie's work often leans toward the ethereal and dark through the use of pinhole lenses and hand-coated 4x5 dry plates. This combination is unusual, but rather than shying away from the imperfections of dry plate and pinhole,Katie has embraced these as visual storytelling devices within her work.
